Back in July 1976, history was made when the
Viking 2 orbiter photographed a geological
anomaly in the Cydonia region of Mars. Which
not only made NASA scientists change the
planned landing site, but utterly confounded
them in an astronomical mystery still to be
resolved by science: the Mars Cydonia Face.
The now famously controversial frame 35A72,
shows a rocky mesa approx. 2.5 km long by 2km
wide & almost a km high, resembling a human
face wearing what appears to be an "ancient
egyptian style" headdress. This was smugly
dismissed as "a trick of light & shadow" by
leading NASA scientists at the time, & they
hoped this public ridicule would resolve the
media controversy in the public eye. Yet
despite synonymous computer image enhancement
techniques by independent scientists of the 2
images taken by Viking, which now revealed
far greater surface detail & creating
striking new evidence supporting the theory
that the Martian face was artificial.
However, this evidence was mysteriously
suppressed by JPL as being "too inconclusive"
to publish to the worlds media, & was
conveniently filed away for 2 decades. It
wasnt until April 1998, that the Mars Global
Surveyor orbiter took new images of the
Cydonia "face" with 10 times the resolution
of the earlier Viking photos.
However, what was disappointingly revealed
was an apparently natural rock formation,
only vaguely resembling a human face, & after
JPL showed the new images to the worlds media
& internet, the public were apparently
satisified that the Artificial Origin
Controversy was finally resolved. However JPL
basically deceived the public, deliberately
taking the new images from a far lower
western orbital angle, & crucially also
passing them through 2 photographic filters,
creating a false impression which obscured &
artificially flattened all the valid surface
features on the face. It has been suggested
by Metaresearch that JPL processed the image
to cynically settle any debate in their
financial favour: as any public funds would
then be diverted to JPL from NASA to fund
cheaper robotic missions, rather than an
expensive manned NASA Mars mission. Which the
US public may support, once the raw image was
shown to reveal hidden eyesockets, brow
ridges & even signs of teeth inside the
mouth. With the odds of this occuring by
geological chance at roughly a thousand
billion billion to one (BIG number...!). With
this compelling new evidence, it will
probably take the american political will for
a manned Martian mission to the Cydonia
region, to resolve the Artificial Origin
Controversy conclusively. Crucially, if it
was proven artificial, it would not only
profoundly change human history proving that
extraterrestrial life once even existed
within our own solar system. But also posing
the more fundamental question as to the
probable cause of the Martian extinction? It
has been cautiously suggested that a few
hundred refugees may have fled on an
interplanetary exodus to prehistoric earth &
may even be our far distant "adam & eve"
ancestors...
